FXCITYPRO OPERATIONS GUIDE
A practical guide to separate MT4 terminals, combined Grid exposure, Auto Lot, broker conditions and reliable VPS operation for FXCityPro Alpha X 2.0, FXCityPro_EUR 3.0v and FXCityPro_JPY.
MAP THE PRODUCTS FIRST
Do not treat FXCityPro as one universal robot. Each licensed EX4 file has its own product page, chart, monitoring profile and Strategy Tester report.
A mathematical EURJPY system for the H1 chart. Alpha X does not use Martingale lot doubling, but it still carries market and drawdown risk.
The more active EURJPY M15 edition, with configurable fixed-lot or equity-based position sizing.
A dedicated USDJPY system for the M30 chart, with risk settings that must be assessed together with the rest of the account.
Alpha X uses EURJPY H1; FXCityPro_EUR uses EURJPY M15. Running both on the same trading account can concentrate exposure to the same currency pair even when their terminals and Magic Numbers are separate.
TERMINAL ARCHITECTURE
The recommended layout is one EA, one chart and one terminal installation. This makes configuration, logs, templates and restarts easier to identify and prevents one terminal workspace from becoming ambiguous.
Install the broker's MT4 into separate folders and name the shortcuts, for example Alpha-X-H1, EUR-3-M15 and JPY-M30. Use File → Open Data Folder in each terminal to confirm that their data folders differ.
Place only the intended FXCityPro file in that terminal's MQL4/Experts folder. The account number logged into MT4 must match the account for which the file was registered.
Open only the required symbol and timeframe for that EA, apply the delivered settings, and record the terminal name, chart and Magic Number used.
Separate terminals isolate files, charts and logs. They do not divide account equity, margin or market exposure when all terminals log into the same trading account.
If three terminals connect to one MT4 account, all three EAs still use the same balance, equity and free margin. Separate trading accounts provide stronger risk separation, but only when your license allowance and broker setup permit it.
BEFORE INSTALLATION
Most installation problems are easier to prevent than to repair. Complete these checks before copying the licensed EX4 file into MetaTrader 4.
The license is prepared for the account number supplied after purchase. Copy the number from the MT4 Navigator or account window and make sure the demo or real account type is correct.
An EX4 Expert Advisor is installed in the desktop terminal. The mobile MT4 application can monitor an account but cannot host or run the EA itself.
Check the filename and the product you purchased. Alpha X, FXCityPro_EUR and FXCityPro_JPY require different charts and must not be treated as one universal robot.
A demo run confirms that the license is recognized, the broker symbol and permissions are correct, and the terminal is stable before any real capital is exposed.
Store the delivery email and an untouched backup of the EX4 file. Renaming or modifying protected files may make troubleshooting unnecessarily difficult.
Use a current broker build of MetaTrader 4. Restarting the terminal before installation clears many temporary interface and Navigator issues.
MT4 INSTALLATION
The exact menu wording can vary slightly between broker builds, but the folder and permission sequence is the same.
In MetaTrader 4 select File → Open Data Folder. Do not guess the installation directory in Windows Explorer because a computer can contain several different terminal data folders.
Inside the active data folder open MQL4 and then Experts. This is the directory where the licensed FXCityPro EX4 file belongs.
Copy only the edition licensed for this account into the Experts folder. Keep the filename supplied by support unless you have been instructed otherwise.
Return to MT4, right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator and select Refresh. A full terminal restart is the most reliable option if the EA does not appear.
Open EURJPY H1, EURJPY M15 or USDJPY M30 according to the edition. Confirm that the symbol in the chart header is correct, including any broker suffix.
Drag FXCityPro from Navigator to the chart. Review the Inputs tab and keep the official default configuration for the first controlled demo test.
In the Common tab allow live trading when you are ready, then enable the AutoTrading button in MT4. The platform and the EA both need permission.
Look for the normal EA status on the chart and read the Experts and Journal tabs. License, symbol or permission messages are more useful than repeatedly reinstalling the same file.
COMBINED GRID EXPOSURE
Here, Grid exposure means the account-level risk created when an EA manages several positions or when several EAs hold related positions at the same time. It does not mean that all FXCityPro products use identical Grid or Martingale logic.
Add the volume of every open position across all terminals. A small first order can become a much larger account-level exposure when a sequence develops.
Alpha X and FXCityPro_EUR both trade EURJPY. Their signals can overlap, so separate Magic Numbers do not remove correlation or duplicate directional exposure.
Monitor equity, floating profit or loss and free margin for the complete account. Closed profit from one EA does not neutralize an active losing basket in another.
Include spread, commission and swap for all positions. Costs can expand during volatile or illiquid periods and may materially change a multi-order sequence.
Alpha X explicitly avoids Martingale lot doubling. That statement does not guarantee a fixed drawdown, eliminate correlation, or make combined exposure with other EAs safe.
POSITION SIZING
Equity-based sizing can be convenient, but every EA may read the same account value. Without a portfolio-level plan, several EAs can each size positions as if the full balance were available to that strategy alone.
For the first demo and controlled live test, a small fixed lot is easier to audit. It separates installation issues from changing position-size calculations.
If two or three EAs use equity-based sizing, reduce each allocation so their combined worst-case exposure fits one account limit.
Deposits, withdrawals, realized results and floating equity can affect an automatic lot calculation. Check the next permitted lot before and after account changes.
The requested size must fit the broker's minimum lot, lot step and maximum volume. Invalid volume errors should be corrected from symbol specifications, not guessed.
Balance, leverage, contract size, open baskets, broker costs and personal loss limits differ. Test the delivered settings on demo, change one documented input at a time and keep enough free margin for adverse movement.
BROKER AND VPS
Two MT4 accounts can behave differently even when they use the same EA and inputs. Price feeds, spreads, commission, swaps, trading hours, stop levels, latency and order execution all matter.
Symbols such as EURJPY.a or USDJPYpro may still represent the correct pair. Confirm that the chart is tradable and that the EA recognizes the broker naming format.
The visible spread is only one cost. Compare normal and volatile sessions, commission per lot and swaps when positions may remain open.
Slippage, rejected orders and broker stop-distance rules can alter entries or management. Review the Experts and Journal logs instead of assuming every difference is an EA fault.
A VPS can keep MT4 online while the home computer is off. Choose a stable location near the broker, disable automatic terminal shutdowns and verify that MT4 restarts after maintenance.
It improves continuity and may reduce latency, but the correct account, licensed file, pair, timeframe, permissions and risk settings must already be in place.
VERIFY EACH SOURCE
FX Blue shows the history made public for a monitored account; a Backtest is a historical simulation under selected assumptions. They answer different questions and neither guarantees future results.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Start with the exact message in MT4. The Experts and Journal tabs usually narrow the problem faster than deleting files or changing multiple inputs at once.
| Problem | Likely cause | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| The EA is not visible in Navigator | The EX4 was copied into a different terminal data folder, or Navigator was not refreshed. | Use File → Open Data Folder in the same MT4 terminal, confirm MQL4/Experts and restart MT4. |
| The EA is on the chart but does not trade | AutoTrading, live-trading permission or market conditions may prevent execution. | Confirm both permissions, read the chart message and logs, then allow the strategy to wait for its programmed conditions. |
| License or account error | The file was activated for another MT4 account number or account type. | Compare the logged-in number with the number sent to support. Do not send a password. |
| Wrong symbol or timeframe | The edition is attached to a chart other than EURJPY H1, EURJPY M15 or USDJPY M30. | Match the EA, pair and timeframe exactly and check any broker suffix. |
| Not enough money or margin | The requested order is too large for the available free margin or other positions already use it. | Reduce exposure, review all open trades and never use higher leverage as a substitute for risk control. |
| Results differ from monitoring | Broker feed, spread, execution, deposits, start date, settings or account conditions differ. | Compare like with like and expect some variation; do not force entries to reproduce another account. |
| MT4 stopped after a restart | AutoTrading, chart templates, login or VPS startup did not restore correctly. | Verify the account connection, EA status, charts and logs after every terminal or VPS restart. |
| Duplicate or conflicting trades | The same EA or another strategy may be attached to the same pair in several charts or terminals. | List every active chart and terminal. Keep one controlled EA instance per pair unless the configuration was intentionally designed otherwise. |
| Orders are rejected | Market is closed, volume is invalid, stops are too close, trading is restricted or execution failed. | Read the exact error code in Experts/Journal and confirm broker symbol specifications before changing the EA. |
| FX Blue chart does not display | Privacy protection, an extension or the monitoring provider may block the third-party frame. | Open the public FX Blue profile directly, test another browser with extensions disabled and do not treat a blocked widget as missing trading history. |
BEFORE GOING LIVE
Complete the list after every new installation, account change, broker migration or VPS rebuild.
If a problem appears, save the log message and a screenshot, then change only the item connected to that error. Multiple simultaneous changes make it difficult to identify the real cause.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
It may be technically possible, but the account carries their combined exposure. Use separate MT4 installations, test the full portfolio on demo and size risk at account level.
No. They isolate files and logs, not market exposure. Alpha X and FXCityPro_EUR can still hold related EURJPY risk on the same account.
Use the supplied settings and documentation. Change a Magic Number only when the input is documented and you understand every active instance; otherwise contact support.
Not automatically. Auto Lot changes size with account values, while a fixed lot is easier to audit. Safety depends on the total portfolio exposure and the loss you can accept.
No. Several terminals can connect to the same account, subject to broker rules. However, true balance and margin separation requires separate accounts and compatible licenses.
Confirm that every terminal opened, logged into the intended account, restored the correct chart, enabled AutoTrading and shows no error in Experts or Journal.
No. Mobile MT4 can monitor the account, but the EA runs in a desktop MT4 terminal or Windows VPS.
NEXT STEP
Write down the EA, account, terminal folder, chart, timeframe, sizing mode and Magic Number for every instance. Then test the complete combination on demo and review total exposure from the account level.
